DAY 1 - 4 July 2022
Welcome to Scotland!
In the afternoon arrival at the Pittormie Castle, a magnificent baronial castle that is Scotland’s most exclusive private estate near St. Andrews.
Why St. Andrews? Rugged cliffs? Check. Wild, windy weather? Check. Glorious white sandy beaches for smoochy, regal walks? Check. Ruined gothic cathedral? Check. Captivating alleyways wreathed in spooky tales of ghosts, old saints’ bones and fishwives waiting for their husbands to come back, or not, from the sea. Check, check, check.
It’s easy to fall for St Andrews. All those streets of Georgian stone townhouses, bistros and knitwear shops. All that romance.
In the evening welcome cocktail and dinner at the Castle.

Pittormie Castle
Pittormie Castle, formerly the home of the first Duke of Fife, having been given to Ludovic of Lennox by King James VI in 1596, the baronial castle was lovingly restored in 2005 under the guidance of Historic Scotland.
The Residences are split into three distinct areas on property although all within a very short walk of the main castle and building and facilities. All of the residences are individual in style and layout but all contain the same high quality finish and facilities.
The residences offer an intimate and unique, fully furnished, home-from-home experience. They feature hand-built kitchens, large lounges and beautiful bedrooms with en-suite bathrooms.

Stage 1, THE PERTHSHIRE
About 250 km

Blair Ahtol Distillery
Blair Athol Distillery stands at the gateway to the Scottish Highlands in the picturesque town of Pitlochry.

Blair Athol’s ancient source of water is the Allt Dour – in Gaelic “the burn of the otter” – flows through the grounds of the distillery from the slopes of Ben Vrackie in the foothills of the Grampian mountains. It is this constant supply of pure water which attracted John Stewart and Robert Robertson, who founded the distillery on the moorland south of Pitlochry in 1798.

BLAIR CASTLE
Blair Castle sits at the hub of a breath-taking historic landscape and the castle’s grounds are no exception.

Surrounded by hills and peaceful countryside, the castle has some of Scotland’s finest views. The castle has been transformed through the ages, from its cold medieval beginnings to become a fine Georgian mansion and finally a Victorian castle in the Baronial style.

We will have lunch in the castle spectacular ballroom

Departure towards the Scottish Highlands to explore dramatic castles and mysterious standing stones or simply discover an elemental natural landscape unchanged by the passage of time.

In the afternoon drive back to the hotel.
Shuttle to St. Adrews for dinner at Forgans Restaurant.
DAY 3 - 6 July 2022
Stage 2, THE LOWLANDS
About 280 km

DRUMMOND CASTLE GARDENS
It is extremely unlikely that you will ever forget your first glimpse of the great parterre at Drummond Castle. The word on everyone's lips as they peer over the balustrade, says the head gardener, is "wow". It's not just the scale of the garden, the sweep of the landscape or the almost surreal planting; it's the element of surprise.

Neither the mile long Beech Avenue surrounded by woods and fields that leads you to the castle, nor the conspicuous lack of a gift shop or tea room when you arrive, provide any hint of the extraordinary tableau that awaits.

What makes Drummond so exciting is that it is really two gardens in one. There is the garden you see from above, and there is the garden you experience when you stand in it. The parterre is so long and the topiary, trees and hedges so high that you can scarcely see a quarter of the way into it. It unfolds in a sequence of intimate spaces, with a novelty at every turn. As one visitor remarked, "it's a jolly good potter round".

Loch Lomond
Jewelled by emerald islands, fringed by beautiful wooded shores and surrounded by grand hills and mountains, Loch Lomond is where the Scottish Highlands “begin”.

Loch Lomond has been immortalised by writers, poets and artists over the centuries. Known as the Queen of Scottish Lochs the banks of Loch Lomond are amongst the most enchanting and romantic beauty spots in the British Isles.

We will discover the legends and secrets of the islands of Loch Lomond, known as the jewels in her crown. Lunch onboard during this leisurely 2 hour circular cruise.

DAY 4 - 7 July 2022
Stage 3, THE DEESIDE
About 280 km
Departure and drive along the Deeside Tourist Route, an enchanting route from Perth to Aberdeen, via the towering splendour of the Cairngorms National Park. The Deeside Tourist Route is an epic drive, passing through the fruit-growing farmland of Blairgowrie, the jaw-dropping National Park and the lush landscapes of Royal Deeside.
Coffee stop at the Dalmunzie Castle.
Arrival for lunch at the Mar Lodge Estate after a stunning drive across the mountains.
Dinner at the hotel

DALMUNZIE CASTLE
We will stop in the Glenshee for a coffee break at Dalmunzie Castle in their cosy tearoom to enjoy a selection of cakes and scones home-baked and the stunning panorama.
Glenshee lies hidden in the north-east corner of Perthshire, Glenshee taking its name from the Gaelic ‘Shith’ (Glen of the Fairies or Peace). Its history provides a virtual snapshot of the story of Highland Scotland with the mountains of the Cairngorms providing a magnificent backdrop.

Mar lodge
Set amid magnificent Scottish countryside, in the heart of the Cairngorms National Park, Mar Lodge Estate is surrounded by ancient forests, rolling glens, wild rivers and rugged peaks.

Originally built as a Victorian hunting lodge for the Duke and Duchess of Fife in 1895, Mar Lodge is an idyllic setting for our lunch in the Highland.

DAY 5 - 8 July 2022
Stage 4, THE FIFE
About 125 km
Departure for a tour along the Fife Coastal Route, a meandering path along the glittering Firth of Forth coastline, passing the beautiful fishing towns in the East like Neuk and Anstruther.
We will stop for a coffee break and a stroll around in St. Andrews. The town is steeped in history and its traditional buildings and cobbled streets have changed little over the centuries.
Drive to Falkland Palace and Garden for a visit and lunch.
In the afternoon a short drive back to the hotel to get ready for the farewell dinner in Dundee and party afterwards!

St . Andrews
Packed with history, tradition and scenic views – St Andrews is a real Scottish gem.
This small city is set on the coast of Fife to the northeast of Edinburgh. It’s been pulling in the visitors since its days on an ancient religious pilgrimage route and is still a magnet for students and golf-lovers.
St Andrews’ picturesque streets are overflowing with charm, from the castle ruins to the quads and courtyards of the university. And the student population means plenty of places to eat and drink too.

Like a tapestry of epiphanies embellishing the mind, the buildings in St Andrews are all part of its charm. From ancient ruins to university quads, here is the most beautiful architecture that adds to the allure of Scotland’s favourite bubble.
Falkland
Palace
Falkland Palace & Garden provides a unique opportunity to explore a royal ‘pleasure palace’ with a Victorian twist.
Inspired by the grand châteaux of France, in the 16th century James IV and his son, James V, transformed this favoured retreat of the royal Stuarts – the palace became one of the finest examples of Renaissance architecture in Scotland.

One of Falkland’s most famous royal residents – Mary, Queen of Scots – was enchanted with the palace, and took advantage of Falkland’s vast estate to pursue falconry and hunting, while also enjoying a game of tennis in what is now the oldest surviving real (or royal) tennis court in the world.
You will wander through the historic orchard, complete with a living willow labyrinth, and marvel at the beauty of our formal gardens designed by Percy Cane.
